This balance of pure white color and premium metallic sheen is a common pain point in tinted lip balm tube production—regular white tubes lack luxury, while metallic tubes struggle to keep a pure white look.

Step 2: Initial Solutions for the Tinted Lip Balm Tube
To meet the need, we first proposed two options for the tinted lip balm tube:
Pearlescent white PE tube: Adds pearlescent pigments to PE material to create a subtle metallic-like glow. It’s cost-effective but has a weaker metallic effect.
ABL tube with reverse UV varnish: Combines the barrier property of aluminum with plastic’s flexibility. Reverse UV varnish was meant to highlight metallic texture while keeping the tube white.
The client chose Option 2 for its potential high-end feel.

We quickly adjusted the plan for the tinted lip balm tube:
Use silver ABL (Aluminum Barrier Laminate) as the base material (it has a built-in aluminum layer for a strong metallic texture).
Print a thin, even white layer on the silver ABL surface. This keeps the tube white while letting the silver ABL’s metallic texture show through.
